This project was not designed by me, but I did apply for the planning permission. The clients had a family member whom was a very talented Architect, so I agreed to take her design and apply for planning permission and take the project from this stage to completion.
Planning permission to demolish the existing cottage and for Construction of a dwellinghouse was granted within a few months of submission and we went straight into the working drawings and tender stage. After a long negotiation period with the builder, Brian O Sullivan Construction, Goleen was appointed the builder.
It was a difficult site, as the local access road were narrow to say the least (which makes this house all the more special). The access driveway was very steep which added to the difficulties, but in the end this project turned out very well. The sea views are spectacular from this house and it was a great challenge co-ordinating the project and dealing with the builder and clients was a pleasure.
